Lessons from Hadron Phenomenology

چکیده
The main effort of our light-front community has been in the past ten years to develop new techniques for solving QCD, be it DLCQor renormalisationgroupbased methods (for review see [1]). In practice the usefulness of any procedure (which includes the question of convergence) is often determined by how well its first approximation captures the essential features of the system under consideration. This is why phenomenology can be helpful in tailoring the approximation schemes by giving us some hints of what is important for the spectra.

Top quark physics in hadron collisions
The top quark is the heaviest elementary particle observed to date. Its large mass makes the top quark an ideal laboratory to test predictions of perturbation theory concerning heavy quark production at hadron colliders. The top quark is also a powerful probe for new phenomena beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. In addition, the top quark mass is a crucial parameter for scrutinizing ...
متن کاملLattice QCD , Chiral Perturbation Theory and Hadron Phenomenology ∗
These are the proceedings of the workshop on “Lattice QCD, Chiral Perturbation Theory and Hadron Phenomenology” held at the European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas from October 2 to 6, 2006. The workshop concentrated on bringing together researchers working in lattice QCD and chiral perturbation theory with the aim of improving our understanding how hadron p...

Nowadays, heavy mesons and baryons are produced and decayed at LHC in abundance. These processes are good sources to study the QCD theory, especially to study the hadron structures. Therefore, the phenomenology of heavy hadrons fragmentation function is a basic and important subject in the Particle Physics. In the present work, we replicate the calculation heavy meson fragmentation function in...
متن کاملHow Can We Go from Hadron Collider Data toward the Underlying Theory That Extends the Standard Model? after the Champagne
This is a composite based on talks at Physics at LHC, Vienna, July 2004, TeV4LHC, Fermilab, Sept. 2004, and the String Phenomenology meeting, Perimeter Institute, March 2005.
متن کاملQuiver Gauge Theory and Conformality at the Large Hadron Collider
This review describes the conformality approach to extending the standard model of particle phenomenology using an assumption of no conformal anomaly at high energy. Topics include quiver gauge theory, the conformality approach to phenomenology, strong-electroweak unification at 4 TeV, cancellation of quadratic divergences, cancellation of U(1) anomalies, and a dark matter candidate.
